RSAS - short overview
NTA Development is part of the national school improvement program in science and technology in Sweden, the NTA Program, www.nta.kva.se. NTA is based on collaboration with NAS (National Academy of Science) and NSRC (National Science Resource Centre)The office is located in the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Academy together with the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences supports the development unit.
The municipalities become members of the NTA association, at the moment the NTA program have around 100 members in Sweden, 96 000 pupils work with the NTA units.
In the Fibonacci-project NTA Development will work together with schools in the Stockholm area. NTA provides materials in 15 different thematic units with a specially designed teacher education program for every unit, and guides for teachers and pupils. This enables teachers, in all categories, to work in line with the curriculum with experiments in compulsory school ages 6 to 16.
Activities with the Fibonacci project
We will work together with teachers who have worked with NTA-units some years and who are interested to develop their skills in inquirybased learning in science and technology. Together with our twinning centres in Estonia and Denmark we will find ways to exhange experiences about how to work with teachers professional development in science and technology.
