Augsburg is located in the South of Germany. The University of Augsburg has about 15000 students. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is one of seven faculties and offers studies in mathematics, business mathematics, mathematics education, physics, material sciences and science education. Activities within the Fibonacci project

In the framework of Fibonacci a network of 70 primary schools is set up for teacher education in mathematics. Didactic concepts, tools and rich learning tasks are developed and used for inquiry-based learning in primary and secondary school. Moreover, general theories and strategies for substantial innovations in the educational system are developed, tested and evaluated.
