Local community approach for sustainable science and mathematics education
A community approach involving different actors (City hall, research laboratories, parents, association, museums…) to the benefit of science and mathematics education is a major key to sustainability and development of educational innovation. This was demonstrated in the frame of the Pollen project through the Seed city concept implementation in 12 major European cities. Regional community provides support, encouragement, and contributes to opening the school to its environment, by linking science and mathematics activities with daily life situations and professional contexts (scientific careers).
